Transforming learners into leaders through digital independence.
Mission
Computing with Joy helps returning citizens and older adults gain the digital confidence and financial knowledge needed to navigate today’s technology-driven world and live independently.

Who We Serve
Computing with Joy currently provides weekly digital literacy instruction to individuals residing in transition housing in Hillsborough County, in partnership with Noah Community Outreach. Many participants are returning citizens who have spent years without access to modern technology.
The program is expanding to include outreach to older adults in senior living communities who need support navigating smartphones, healthcare portals, and online services.

Our Program

Digital Foundations
Participants learn essential skills including smartphone use, email, internet navigation, and online job applications.

Financial & Digital Confidence
We teach practical skills such as debit card use, online banking basics, healthcare portal access, and scam awareness.

Leadership Development
Program graduates may advance into our Digital Navigator Leadership Track and become Community Digital Navigators and Computing with Joy Ambassadors, assisting seniors and others in the community.

The Challenge
Individuals returning from long-term incarceration often reenter a world that has become fully digital. Basic tasks such as completing online job applications, accessing healthcare portals, managing debit cards, and recognizing scams can become overwhelming.
Older adults face similar barriers as essential services move online. Without support, these gaps create obstacles to employment, financial stability, healthcare access, and independent living.
Community Impact
Digital Independence
Participants gain the ability to use email, smartphones, and online systems independently.
Leadership Development
Graduates become Community Digital Navigators and Computing with Joy Ambassadors.
Community Support
Navigators assist seniors and other community members in gaining confidence and independence with technology.
Where We Serve
Computing with Joy currently serves participants in Hillsborough County, Florida, with plans to expand digital literacy outreach to senior living communities and additional reentry programs.
